KOTA KINABALU, 5 November 2026 – Strengthening visitor safety and confidence ahead of Visit Sabah 2027 took centre stage at the NIOSHCert International Standards Seminar 2026 (NISS 2026) at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).

Organised by NIOSH Certification Sdn. Bhd. (NIOSHCert), a subsidiary of NIOSH, the seminar brought together government and industry representatives under the theme “Safe Adventure Experiences, Trusted Destinations” to promote international standards and practical approaches to safer tourism.

Sabah Deputy State Secretary (Development), Datuk Dr. Ahemad Sade, officiated at the event on behalf of Sabah State Secretary Datuk Zainudin Aman.

Also present were Dato’ Haji Ayop Salleh, NIOSH Executive Director and NIOSHCert Chairman; Datuk Rosmawati Lasuki, Chief Executive Officer of D’Heritage Sdn. Bhd. (SICC); Datuk Josie Lai Mei Sing, Permanent Secretary of the Sabah Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment (KePKAS); and Syamsul Zahrin Zainudin, Chief Executive Officer of NIOSHCert.

From adventure activities to hospitality and transport, every part of the tourism journey has a role in keeping visitors safe.
